The PP asks the Assembly to defend the territorial limits of Águilas in front of Pulpí (07/07/2018)

The Popular Parliamentary Group will defend next Wednesday before the Commission of Territorial Policy, Environment, Agriculture and Water of the Regional Assembly, a motion with which it intends to defend the territorial limits of the municipality of Águilas and reject the demarcation process promoted by the city council of Pulpí with the intention of annexing the Playa de los Cocedores to the province of Almería.

The popular leader has explained that the city council of Pulpí has initiated a file, based on historical archives, with which it tries to put in question the territorial ownership of the beach of the Cookers.

It is inadmissible because the membership of that area has never been questioned in the municipality of Águilas, said the popular deputy who has added that there has never been disagreement about the delimitation of this space or of others, such as the case of Playa de la Higuerica, now also in question.

Isabel M. Soler, said that with this file, the city of Pulpí, aims to damage the interests of Águilas and also those of the Region of Murcia as it is an attempt to change the regional territorial demarcation and lower its limits in favor of the province of Almeria, something that lacks justification and that we are not going to consent, he said.

Given these circumstances, the regional deputy of the Popular Party considers necessary a clear positioning of the political groups represented in the Regional Assembly rejection of the unjustified intentions of Pulpí consistory to take over a territory that does not correspond, said Soler.

For this reason, it requests the Governing Council, together with the city council of Águilas, to appear in the file and plead against the intentions of the Almería City Council.

In the same way, request the involvement of the Government of Spain so that Murcia is not harmed by this division of the territory.
