The month of July of COPLA 2018 ends with all the objectives met (03/08/2018)

Spanish Red Cross in Águilas, entity responsible for surveillance, rescue and rescue on the beaches of the municipality under the Agreement with the city council, started the COPLA 2018 Plan on June 2.

Said plan gave coverage during the weekends of that month of June to 4 beaches of the locality, Calabardina, La Colonia, Calarreona and Las Delicias, the latter with 2 Posts, to be in the Middle Season, going from June 30 and until July 31, already in High Season, to the 14 beaches with permanent coverage to which the Dynamic Surveillance is added by the rest of the coastline of the coast of Aguilen, in charge of Rapid Intervention Vehicles with Aquatic Rescuers.

With regard to 2017, it is worth noting that the number of rescues on the beaches of Aguileñas has declined thanks to the prevention of CRE staff assigned to COPLA and the work of Proactive Surveillance and information on risk situations for users, although On the contrary, and in spite of the decrease, within the 37 rescues carried out in this period, the percentage of minors assisted in them has increased, so that from the Department of Public Safety and the Spanish Red Cross we want to appeal to adults and tutors so that they do not neglect their supervision in the water with the little ones.

The total assistance carried out in this period totals 1,505 interventions, 37 of them by the Medical Team that has been operating on weekends and holidays, 114 carried out by the Ambulance of Basic Life Support and 1,070 for causes of various kinds as a cure. of wounds, minor injuries or stings of marine animals.

We have assisted, assessed and transferred to the reference hospitals 5 Immersion Syndromes, 4 of them mild for the performance of complementary medical tests and 1 severe with Cardio Respiratory Stop that was recovered on the beach of El Hornillo by Red Cross rescuers Emergencies and stabilized by the UME 8 of 061.

Also note that the staff of the Spanish Red Cross in Águilas have carried out 250 interventions to facilitate the bathing of users with disabilities, making the municipality of Águilas a reference in the Accessible Beaches Program
