The orange formation proposed a pact between different political parties to make a plan, for several years, to improve our neighborhoods that was made by municipal technicians and respected regardless of the party that governs.
Given the lack of response from the Mayor Mari Carmen Moreno, who seems not to like that kind of agreement that benefits all our neighborhoods, Citizens proposes, for the budgets of the year 2019, to reserve, for each neighborhood, a proportional economic departure, to be the neighbors themselves, coordinated by the respective Neighborhood Board, who decide the destination of these funds.
"It would be great if the residents in each neighborhood could decide, democratically, what destiny to give to that part of the budget."
Antonio Barba, Head of Municipal Training Policy, said.
"It is a logical evolution that already occurs in other cities to give a new meaning to the Neighborhood Boards.Many times, the City Council allocates parts of the budget to carry out works on sidewalks, changes in streets, parks, to place banks, trees and a long etcetera, that the neighbors do not believe a priority, being for them more important to allocate that money, or part of it, to other uses.We believe that the involvement of the neighbors in this type of decisions is fundamental ".

The training clarifies that such decisions must be endorsed by municipal technicians that neighbors can consult to make such decisions to avoid decompensation and other anomalous situations, for which a specific regulation should be studied for the Neighborhood Boards, its operation, election , channels of participation, neighborhood voting and other aspects.
The training hopes that this time, yes, the Mayor will be receptive and start this initiative with the budgets of 2019.
