With the aim of continuing to make Águilas an inclusive municipality, last weekend the 1st Sports and Disability Conference was held at the Municipal Sports Center;
an event, organized by the Department of Sports of the City of Águilas in coordination with the Municipal Council of Disability, a body recently created and included in the I Inclusion Plan for People with Disabilities of Eagles.
Throughout the morning, aquatic therapies, archery workshops, wheelchair circuits and indoor football matches were developed;
activities that were combined with informative talks and stand of the different participant associations in which there was a clear message: the need to modify terms, substituting "disability" for "capacity to reach goals".
The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Sports, Cristóbal Casado, who shared the day with all the participants, agreed to point out the "success of this first edition of some days that - they assured - will be the germ to continue working for inclusive sports with the start-up of a sports club adapted for Águilas ".
