Development promotes the construction of a bridge over the Rambla de las Aguilas Culebras improving communication with the town (01/03/2016)

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, and the mayor of Eagle, Maria Carmen Moreno, today signed a cooperation agreement, highways, for the construction of a bridge over the Rambla de las Culebras, where the Community will invest 250,000 euros.

"The bridge is of vital importance for the municipality and improving their communications, as the channel of the promenade separates the beach area, which borders the Cabezo de las Cuevas in the neighborhood of Columbus, and the developments 'Fransena' and 'the Stove' the rest of the town of Aguilas, "said Barnabas.

The counselor explained that "when floods are caused by heavy rains in the promenade, the beach area is held incommunicado, and isolated the mall 'The Stove' main entertainment area of ​​the city, the Secondary School Alfonso Escámez, and the Eagles Auditorium ".

He also added that "this situation endangers residents and visitors to these areas, as if avenue is cut off access to them by emergency vehicles and equipment."

The head of the Ministry of Public Works considered as "historic" the signing of this agreement, which will allow to begin construction of the bridge.

Bernabe said "it is a very demanded by the aquiline infrastructure for a long time and that regional and local authorities began work last legislature."

"With this infrastructure we will have, for the first time together these areas of the town and avoid the problems arising from strong floods that occur in the wadi," she insisted the director Francisco Barnabas.

The agreement reflects that the Ministry, through the Directorate General of Highways, is committed to provide 250,000 euros, 84 percent of the total budget, which is 297,538 euros.

The rest will facilitate the local entity.

Also, the City of Eagle is committed to draft and adopt the proposed construction of the new bridge;

tender, award and manage construction sites, and preserve and exploit the infrastructure.

Work will begin after completion of the previous works being developed by the City Council for the construction of a retaining wall on both banks of the wadi.
