Monologue workshop "Not only punches hurt" (09/03/2016)

His work, which is essentially a story of his life, makes a rigorous journey through the whole process of development of chauvinistic violence in a relationship based on inequality.

The story is narrated by the main characters, Antonio, her boyfriend, who by the simple fact of being man and is considered by a superior society, and Pamela, a teenager being a woman will have a lower social ladder.

Pamela gesturally represents that inequality between men and women, raising his left arm indicating the socially privileged position of men and down his right arm to mark the lower position held by women.

That gap, this inequality states that is the result of the patriarchal system in which the capitalist system to continue to exist is based.

This social inequality of women relative to men and those that develop sexist roles both characters will precipitate a series of situations that plays throughout the monologue.

Among the comic gags that drew wide public and loud laughter, Pamela sent direct messages presenting the harsh reality, resulting in the deathly quiet and respectable applause successive support.

For example, when he reflected on how our education system does not teach us anything about emotional intelligence and how to manage our feelings and emotions.

It is known to everyone, that the perpetrator is not born, it is done.

Therefore, from the 7N Platform against sexist violence Eagles, we believe it is necessary to work comprehensively and explicitly this subject in schools if we are to eradicate the social scourge posed by sexist violence.

Also, Pamela tells how after suffering successive abuses when they go to a therapist and begins to recognize that he was a battered woman.

That's when you realize that "not only hurt the blows," which leads to fire taxed on your skin every insult, silences "murderers", rape and all the humiliations suffered.

Tougher it for her when to start a relationship with another boy realizes that he has antoņizado and starts playing macho attitudes, to control their partner and interpret that he did not really want because it does not show jealousy or sexist behavior who lived with Antonio.

It is then that he is aware that Antonio did not kill her, but left a deep wound in his difficult inside close and at any time, oozes.

Pamela also remembered Berta Caceres, Honduran environmentalist movement COPINH (Civic Council of Popular and Indigenous Organizations of Honduras).

The indigenous leader publicly denounced environmentalist who felt threatened, saying: "I still threaten to kill me with kidnap, threaten my family."

Berta Caceres was killed last March 3.

From the 7N Platform against sexist violence Eagles we join the recognition that made Pamela Berta Caceres.

As Pablo Neruda said, "they can cut all the flowers, but they can not stop the spring."

In our opinion, the monologue-shop Pamela is a great place to help the adolescents learn to recognize discriminatory behavior that they should not permit or suffer and they should not perform resource.

From the Platform 7N want to thank both the Association against gender violence Eagles for the initiative to propose the workshop, as the Department of Equality of the City of Eagle for making this possible.

And, of course, thank Pamela their commendable work and wish you strength and courage to continue building a more just and egalitarian society.
