The Ramón y Cajal school celebrates its Cultural Week with the visit of outstanding athletes (02/05/2016)

Ramon y Cajal school celebrated its Cultural Week focused on the Olympic Games and healthy eating.

During this week each class has exhibited in the halls of school work on the Olympic sport who have worked and have also been visited by athletes from local elite as triathletes Pedro Maria Campoy and Mabel Gallardo and athletes Rafael Baraza, javelin thrower and Jose Antonio Exposito, long jumper.

Mabel and Peter visited the school last Wednesday, while Rafael and Jose Antonio did on Thursday, delighting elementary students with a graphic presentation about his beginnings in the sport, his career and daily effort with training.

They also stressed the importance of the values ​​conveyed through sport for life.

Also they commented on how important it is to study and train for a better future and that through sport have known around the world for their participation in international competitions.

Students were lucky enough to see Mabel medals and Pedro Hawaiian Ironman triathlon 2,015, one of their bikes and various sports equipment.

Meanwhile, Rafael showed them his javelin champion and medal absolute 2.011 Spain and finally Jose Antonio exhibited several of his medals from world championships.

Both said they are in full preparation to try to get the Olympic minimum to allow it to be this summer at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro 2,016.

Another major theme of the cultural week, focusing on healthy eating, has been developed primarily with the visit of Andres Mendez, nutritionist Eagles Health Medical Center, who through a presentation has exposed students of 5th and 6th the importance of eating a healthy diet, respecting the five daily meals and accompanied with daily physical activity, completing a healthy lifestyle.

Also during the week, students have been enjoying a healthy breakfast of toast with tomato, oil and salt, oranges and water.

All products have been provided by the City of Eagle, through the collaboration of local fruit and vegetable company Urcisol.

The mayor of Education, Vicente Ruiz, and the mayor of Commerce, incarnation Navarro, also wanted to visit the center on the occasion of the Cultural Week and they did the days of sharing a healthy breakfast.

These activities have been very positive from the pedagogical point of view.

Entire education community has been very satisfied with the experience and students in particular has become aware of the importance of sports and healthy eating for life.
