The mayor of the Environment, Isabel Maria Torrente, presented this morning the Municipal Environmental Education Plan that the City has made "being aware of the concerns that have aquiline environmental problems".
Torrente said that "although very important actions in this field have been made both in schools and by other groups is important to have a tool to unify criteria, establish lines of action, targeting, and promoting coordination , development, involvement and collaboration of the various sectors involved. "
In this sense, the mayor has said that "the working method is based on active engagement with key stakeholders involved and will be implemented through programs in which anyone who is interested in participating may do so using a form accession".
As regards the specific objectives pursued highlights:
Promote awareness, knowledge and understanding of environmental issues.
Promote critical awareness of environmental problems.
Develop an ethical commitment.
Encourage citizen participation in preventing and solving environmental problems.
Instruments to promote and facilitate exchange of information and materials between the various stakeholders.
During the meeting with the media the mayor also announced two performances scheduled for this weekend and framed within the program of environmental activities of the Department:
Friday, June 3 at 19 pm in the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia: Presentation promising crops and urban by José María Egea, Professor of Botany at the University of Murcia orchards.
Saturday, June 4 at 9 am in the Garden of The Stove: Day reforestation by Severo Montalvo Scouts groups and Cultural Center Renfe.
