The National Contest Amateur Theatre Paco Rabal will raise the curtain on October 22 (11/10/2016)

The National Contest Amateur Theatre Paco Rabal premieres this year new image, leaving behind the drawn the great aquiline player profile, to show a miscellany of faces of the unforgettable artist at different stages of his life, on such a red background as he was.

Faced with this new poster, work Copón Study, it was presented this morning in the press room of the City of Eagle, the thirteenth edition of this theater competition, which every year consolidates more strongly in the national art scene.

The presentation has been borne by the mayor of Eagle, Mari Carmen Moreno, the mayor of Culture, Lucia Hernandez, the manager of the Auditorium and Congress, Ramon Roman, and the director of the Festival of Arts OFF Rabal, Fran Gimenez.

These have highlighted the strength that the competition takes year after year, noting that this time has doubled the number of applicants to the competition.

Among the more than 100 companies submitted, the jury has selected four works that represent at 20:30 pm in the Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Doña Elena Eagles.

The first one is "It's not that easy," Paco Mir, Cocoretta by the Group Theater, which will raise the curtain on 22 October.

The competition will continue on October 29 with "La Tortuga Darwin" by Juan Mayorga, by the group out of focus.

It is a journey through the history seen from below, since "to live is to adapt".

"The Madman and the shirt," Nelson Valente will be the third work in competition, by the Agalet Group.

The performance will take place on November 5.

From the cross between an austere and pure naturalism and construction of archetypal characters, dramaturgy of this work addresses several themes that are intertwined: Madness, family life, the revelation of truth and domestic violence.

The last work in competition, "the tide" Angelica Lidell, will take the stage on November 12, by representing contemporary actors Classroom Theater of the University of Alicante.

The argument touches consciences, showing the problem of immigrants, the problem of refugees, the welcome and the hosting, the figures drowned in small boats, the uncertainty, the hope and the thunderous and humid silences.

The closing ceremony will take place on November 26, day in which they will be announced the winners.

In addition to the trophies and prizes (worth 2,500 euros) this year, as new, the competition will include two new awards.
