AFEMAC closes its commemoration of the Day of Mental Health with the conference "My Monkey and I, do I right?" (17/10/2016)

To AFEMAC it is very important to involve the citizens of their work, making visible the situation of people with mental health problems and their families and take this opportunity to publicly vindicate the rights of this group.

So, coinciding with the week in which the World Mental Health Day (October 10) was held, they have carried out various activities, which culminated last Friday with a lecture by expert Coach communication of MRC International Training Sandra Menendez.

Under the suggestive title "My monkey and me, I communicate well?", The rapporteur interacted with numerous assistants and guided them to connect to that inner and wild part that often dominates us us instead of controlling it .

Fun and entertaining way, the expert showed how to tame that instinctive aspect of our personality to make the wild animal in a cute monkey.

In addition he encouraged to seek the positive side of life and thank the good stuff.

In return for getting "taming the monkey", the participants received a banana.

Among the events scheduled during the week, which has been governed under the slogan "I'm like you but you still do not know", the Association of Mentally Ill wanted to publicly show the plans and location of the future headquarters of AFEMAC, waiting to be a reality in 2018. the City Council has given the terrain and the Association will face the realization of the building.

Currently, the Center AFEMAC Day serves 29 patients;

with the construction of the new center this number will be significantly increased, to 40 users.

During this week the City of Eagle, and AFEMAC Mapfre Foundation also renewed its collaboration agreement whereby users this past year 14 of the Association held internships in businesses and the City Council.

The mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno, the representative of Mapfre in the area, Antonio Vera Andreu, and the president of AFEMAC, Pilar Morales, have initialed the new document and have them delivered a certificate to the men and women who have worked through this synergy between the three entities.
