El Huerto Don Jorge hosts a Training Seminar on Child Sexual Abuse Prevention (20/10/2016)

The Murcia Association of Support for Abused Children, in collaboration with the Department of Equality of the City of Eagle is conducting a training seminar on Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse.

AMAIM, together with the Federation of Associations for the Prevention of Child Abuse (FAPMI) and with the collaboration of the Ministry of Health, Social Policy and Equality carried out here and in other locations, this training seminar that aims to spread the campaign called "One in five".

The coordinator of the seminar, Isabel Guerrero Campoy, as social educator and sexologist told the participants at the seminar that sexual abuse is wider than you might think at first concept, and to do everything possible to prevent children from being harmed in such a heinous way.

"Child sexual abuse is a more everyday than we like to acknowledge reality. At the same time, it is a hidden reality. It is therefore its inherent criminal nature (the aggressor will try by all means that their actions are not revealed) but also by the silence to which victims are condemned. This silence is due in part to the strategies of manipulation exercised by the abuser, and the other to the situation of helplessness in which children and adolescents victims are for evolutionary reasons and the limitations of his age. "

Sexual violence against children can take many forms: incest and sexual abuse, pornography, prostitution, trafficking, corruption and attacks by other children and adolescents ... Children who are victims of sexual violence suffer much more than an intolerable violation of physical integrity: their mental health can also be affected and lose all trust in adults, people who in principle should protect them.

According to available data, it is estimated that one in five children in Europe are victims of some form of sexual violence.

Between 70 and 85 percent of cases, the victim knows the perpetrator of the violence.

The campaign "One in Five" awareness and prevention of child sexual abuse, developed by the Council of Europe, has among its objectives to promote social awareness so that it can equip children and their families and caregivers of knowledge and appropriate measures to prevent and report cases of child sexual abuse tools.

One goal of the campaign is to get all sectors, areas and directly and indirectly related to the care of children and adolescents agents involved in the prevention of sexual abuse against minors, creating a network of prevention.
