Development invests more than 580,000 euros to reinforce 12 kilometers of the road linking Eagles with Calabardina and The Garrobillo (28/10/2016)

The general secretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Infrastructure, Yolanda Muñoz, today announced it has been awarded, worth 584,000 euros, the work on improving drainage and strong reinforcement of the RM-D14 road, which connects the town of Aguilas with Calabardina and El Garrobillo.

Yolanda Muñoz, along with the mayor of Eagle, Maria Carmen Moreno, and the general director of Roads, Jose Antonio Fernandez Lladó, visited way to know in situ the deficiencies that led to this action, which will have a lead time of four months.

"The road has stretches with cracks, potholes and uneven surface due, among other reasons, to the high circulation which supports the road, with more than 4,800 vehicles a day, of which 5.4 percent are heavy vehicles" said the general secretary.

He stressed that this road is "widely used by residents of La Marina and El Garrobillo" noting that constitutes "an important communication channel for local farmers and visitors for access to the AP-7 motorway".

The general secretary reported to be putting a comprehensive conservation work in progress "to reinforce the roadbed, to improve driving and road safety of the thousands of drivers who pass through it."

The works will be on a path of 12.1 kilometers and will consist of cleaning and the formation of culverts, reconstruction of damaged embankments and replacement of cracked asphalt mix to regularize with the firm surface.

Finally, it was completed with the replacement of the vertical and horizontal signaling.
