A total of 375 citizen proposals have been received by the City of Eagles for the preparation of the participatory budgets of 2017;

"Participatory budgets are another step in transparency, participation and, ultimately, open government," said the mayor of the Treasury, Tomás Consentino, in a meeting with the Media maintained this morning next to the mayor of Citizen Participation, Luis Lopez.

The 375 neighborhood contributions to municipal budgets suppose - said López - "a significant qualitative and quantitative increase compared to last year when there were only six contributions made by the neighbors of Eagles."

This significant increase, continued López, is motivated, to a great extent, by the opening of new channels through which the aquiline have been able to express their ideas on how the City should spend the money of all.

"Thus 63% of citizen contributions to budgets have come through citizen records that have been filled in assemblies in different districts, 15% through the WhatsApp application, 11.5% through email, 9% from the profile of Facebook Citizen Participation, and the remaining 1.5% from the website of the City of Eagles.

Concerning the proposals, the vast majority of citizens who participated in this process of writing participatory budgets, namely 70.13%, consider that it should be used for investment in public spaces (lighting, asphalting or Traffic, among other things).

The other proposals have focused on tourism and employment (16.87%);

Followed by health (5.8%), youth (3.2%), sports (2.13%) and education (1.87%).

"Given these results," said Consentino, "a lot of the proposed initiatives are already contemplated and will be reflected in next year's budgets so that the neighbors can see their contributions materialize in budgets."
