The XXIII Tomato Bouquet Contest framed within the Fiestas of the Purísima Concepción in the hamlet of Garrobillo took place yesterday.
This contest has been organized by the association of farmers of Eagles ASAJA in collaboration with the City of Eagles, and the company Syngenta.
The event began at 5 o'clock and registered a record number of 86 participants who were presented with a source of handmade ceramics made for the occasion by "El Poveo" Totana.
The jury was formed by representatives of the trading entities of Águilas.
Silvia Escarabajal by Expoaguilas, Juan Mecca by Coaguilas and Eloisa Fernández by the Farmers' Association, being the opinion of the independent jury and the decision unappealable and to the full satisfaction of all.
The participants were divided into two categories, on the one hand 3 prizes for the tomato in Ramillete and another 3 prizes for tomato ranch.
The first prizes were given by the mayor Mª Carmen Moreno, the president of Asaja José Martínez, the second by the regional deputy Isabel Mª Soler and Paco Sánchez (member of the board of directors of the association) and the third by the members of the jury .
All the winners were presented with a Christmas batch and a nice ceramic tray.

Red tomato:
1 ° Miguel Lorenzo Robles.
2 ° Manuel López Lorenzo.
3 ° Ivan Marí Caparrós.
Green tomato:
1 ° Miguel Marín Marín.
2 ° José Carmona Pérez.
3 ° Caqui Díaz García.
