The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Igualdad, Isabel María Torrente, have visited the participants in the archeology workshop set up by the Municipal Women's Center.
Moreno and Torrente were accompanied during the visit by the municipal archaeologist, Juan de Dios Hernández, who explained the work that the twenty or so participants are doing.
Throughout the workshop the participants work the whole process of restoration, "from the entrance of funds from the excavation, prospecting or donation to its final exhibition as a museum," said the archaeologist.
The tasks consist of: washing and cleaning the fragments, desalting and drying, gluing and assembling of the different pieces, application of wax molds, volumetric reintegration with plaster, chromatic application and realization of the technical file of the process follow-up;
Pieces, all of them, that at the end of the workshop are temporarily exposed in the archaeological museum of the locality.
