The students of IES Europe participate in a day of waste removal of beaches (20/04/2017)

About a hundred students from the Instituto Europa participated this morning in an environmental day of waste removal on beaches in the environment of Casica Verde.

To the activity, summoned by the Ministry of the Environment, have joined, along with other members of the municipal corporation, the mayor of Eagles, Mari Carmen Moreno;

The ediles of Environment and Education, Isabel María Torrente and Vicente Ruiz;

And the Minister of Environment, Adela Martínez-Cacha.

The day began with an informative talk in which environmental technicians have explained to schoolchildren the importance not only of removing waste but also of classifying them in order to determine their origin.

Issues related to posidonia have also been addressed, insisting on the necessity of not seeing the accumulation of the same as dirt, but on the contrary.

"Posidonia that sometimes accumulates on the seashore as well as being an indication of the quality of the water prevents the loss of sand," said the participating environmental technicians.

After the activity, the first aquiline mayor thanked the participation of all IES Europe students as well as their Management Team.

"The important thing to develop this kind of initiatives is that they put in place environmental education mechanisms," said Moreno.

The action developed today is in addition to those carried out previously by the Department of Environment of the City of Eagles in collaboration with the scout groups of the town.
