The Civil Guard celebrates the day of its Patroness emphasizing the defense of the unity of Spain (13/10/2017)

The Civil Guard of Eagles celebrated yesterday the feast of its Patron.

The celebration began with a religious service in the parish of San José before the image of the Virgin of Pilar attended by a large number of members of the Benemérita, led by the lieutenant chief of the main post in the locality, Joaquín Guillamón.

The event was also attended by a large group of representatives of the municipal corporation, including the mayor of Aguilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, as well as the Minister of Employment, Universities and Business, Juan Hernández.

After the religious ceremony, and due to the national suspension of all the ludic acts of the Pillar as a show of support for all the displaced personnel to Catalonia, this year a hoisting of the national flag was developed, organized by the City of Eagles.

Thus, representatives of the Municipal Corporation, members of the Civil Guard and agents of the Local Police moved to the Placetón, place chosen for the symbolic act in which a large number of citizens also met.

In the course of it, the lieutenant chief of the Civil Guard has highlighted "the virtues of civil guards that I have the honor to lead."

Guillamón wanted to emphasize that "the Civil Guard, always in the hands of the Local Police, has been able to respond to the challenges that civil society poses."

Finally, Guillamón has referred to the current situation of our country in which he has assured - "it is fundamental, more than ever, the commitment and popular collaboration".

For her part, the head of the Aquila Executive wanted to thank "the work that the Civil Guard and Local Police develop in our municipality with the sole objective of ensuring the safety of citizens."

The mayor also referred to the "complicated situation of our country today in which we must highlight the enormous effort of all those people who are working to defend the rule of law and the Constitution."
