Eagles prepare their cemetery for All Saints Day 2017 (27/10/2017)

The cemetery of Eagles is preparing for the celebration, next November 1, of All Saints Day, a date in which a massive influx of people is expected to the local cemetery.

The mayor of cemeteries, Isabel Fernandez, has reported that from the council of which he is holding different actions are being developed;

the mayor said that "to the usual work of cleaning and clearing the plots and maintenance actions based on minor works and paint have added this year other improvement actions."

In this sense, the City Council has installed 38 large flowerbeds with flowers in the cemetery, as well as benches and an ornamental fountain that has been located in the plaza of the new cemetery.

However, the mayor has pointed out that "although it is true that every year at this time there is a set-up of the place, the objective we have from the Department, and in that line is where we are working, is the to keep the cemetery in perfect condition throughout the year. "

Thus, Fernández has recalled that in these two years has been much that has been worked in the municipal cemetery in which, among other actions, has been launched a Comprehensive Rehabilitation Project consisting of the arrangement and cleaning of the covers,

the rehabilitation of about 600 niches that were in very bad condition;

an action in the access road to the cemetery and also in the interior and exterior walls completing with a comprehensive rehabilitation of the exterior facade;

improvement of the drainage system in order to repel moisture in the ossuary area;

and the replacement of all items that were broken in both the autopsy room and the concierge's office.

Also, more than 200 niches have been built;

an image of the Patron of Eagles has been placed;

have been acquired sprinklers, portacoronas and aluminum escalators that allow access to the highest areas safely,

and a surveillance system has been installed through cameras.

A dissuasive measure - said Fernandez - "with which it has been tried to stop the robberies and vandalic acts in the cemetery".

In the same way, the City Council has agreed with the company awarded urban transport to expand the bus lines.

Thus the circular line will provide on 30, 31 and 1 a special service with departure every 30 minutes and stop at the door of the cemetery as well as line 1 whose frequency will be every hour.

It will also activate a special security device with a reinforcement by the Local Police, as well as auxiliary security personnel from day 28 to 1.
