The City of Ãguilas applies a non-invasive technique, called endotherapy, to more than 500 pine trees in the municipality (31/10/2017)

The Águilas City Council wants the trees of the municipality, specifically the pines of the coniferous family, to remain healthy and strong.

For this, a campaign has begun, through the concessionaire STV Gestión, in which it is applying a novel non-invasive technique called endotherapy.

This system aims to kill caterpillars with stinging hairs that appear in some specimens.

Therefore, two people, one of them a technician for the analysis and mode of use, inject a substance totally respectful with the environment that eliminates the possible appearance of the processionary.

Specifically, they focus on the most sensitive places such as schools and parks in the municipality of Águilas.

Likewise, a constant supervision of these specimens is maintained throughout the year in case there is an appearance outside these dates of any of these caterpillars to be able to tackle it with total immediacy.

A task, now applicable to more than half a thousand copies, which allows to continue fighting and betting on the quality and beauty of the different green areas in the municipality of Águilas.
