The beach of Los Cocedores del Hornillo will host the first National Diving Center of the Civil Guard of Spain.
A center, equipped with training rooms for agents, changing rooms and storage area, for whose construction the City Council took the first step in the plenary session held last Tuesday with the approval, unanimously, of the start of the process of expropriation of the land in which the aforementioned center will be located.
After the vote, the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, described as "very positive for Águilas" the installation of this center for underwater activities.
Another of the points addressed in the Plenary, with the votes in favor of PSOE, IU and Águilas Can and the abstention of the PP, was the initial approval of a new municipal ordinance regulating the parking areas and service areas of motorhomes;
an initiative with which it is intended - assured the mayor of Tourism, Ginés Desiderio Navarro - "on the one hand, fill the legal void that this activity exists in the municipality and, on the other hand, promote the economic development of the municipality with the promotion of spaces for public use for motor homes ".
In this sense, it should be noted that the new ordinance, which is now in the public exhibition phase awaiting final approval, includes the regulation of service areas that allow overnight and camping for a maximum of 48 hours.
It also includes a sanctioning regime that seeks to put a stop to camping in places that are not allowed.
In another order of things, in the course of the plenary session was informed of the decree of the mayor of reassignment of the councils of Personnel, Carnival, Education and Public Safety that will be assumed by the mayor Cristóbal Casado (Personal, Education and Carnival) and the mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno (Citizen Security).
