The Auditorium becomes an accessible space for people with hearing disabilities (20/02/2018)

The real integration of people with disabilities continues to be one of the priority objectives of the Government Team, aware of the importance of betting on the elimination of the barriers that disabled people face on a daily basis.

In this sense, the mayor of Culture, Lucia Hernandez, has announced the installation of a magnetic loop in the Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Doña Elena that will allow people with hearing problems using hearing aids or cochlear implants to hear clearly the different actions that develop in him.

The system, consisting of an audio induction loop adapted to the standard UNE-EN 60118-4: 2016, will be operational, starting next week, in three of the central rows of the room with a total of 75 seats.

The mayor of Culture explained that the magnetic loop "consists of a system of microphones installed in the area of ​​the stage that capture the voice or sound and send it by magnetic field directly to the hearing aid or implant with what the person receives with the same clarity it has in the source of emission ".
