The dumping of sewage on the beach west of Eagles had their origin in the sewage treatment plant and not on (06/08/2010)

The manager of the Bank of Sanitation and Wastewater Treatment in the Region of Murcia (Esamur), Manuel Albacete, today clarified the manifestations of socialist parliamentarian Maria del Carmen Moreno, which accused the governing body, under the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, to relinquish his duties at the Station Maintenance Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) of Eagles.

Albacete said that on Tuesday, August 3 in the afternoon there was a fault in the Pump Station Wastewater (EBAR) of the Rubial, located in the town of Aguilas, which by its nature could not be repaired immediately.

Consequently, and until the damage was repaired by municipal services, there was a spill of raw sewage to the promenade of El Charco, leading to the beach west of the town.

This spill prompted the closure of the beach to public use, which will last until the technicians of the Ministry of Health to analyze and confirm the correct status of the water for bathing.

The EBAR of The Rubial is part of the sewage of the town of Aguilas, which corresponds to the conservation and exploitation of Eagles Hall through its concessionaire and "therefore falls outside the scope of ESAMUR management," noted the manager of the entity.

Albacete said that the Sanitation Authority, however, has been in contact for the repair of damage to municipal officials and technical services in charge of sewers, "because if it was possible to collaborate in some way in their compensation."
