The Government of Spain offers the EMU Region to deal with floods of Eagles (17/08/2010)

The government delegate in Murcia, Rafael González Tovar, has reported that the Government of Spain, to the situation of strong rains that have occurred in the town of Eagle and in several towns in the region, has made available to Emergency Military Unit (UME), to deal with this emergency, the request made by the Ministry of the Presidency (Emergency Department).

Specifically, been flooded and some roads closed to traffic in the area, both state and regional level, and has even spilled some promenade dragging some vehicles and the railroad.

González Tovar explained that currently, the Military Emergency Unit with a device consisting of 38 persons and 10 vehicles (fire trucks, backhoe, minimáquinas, ambulance, etc.) is moving to Eagles in order to join the emergency response operation located in the town.

Also indicated is activated Level 1 Civil Protection Special Plan to the Flood Risk (INUNMUR) in the Region of Murcia.

It has also been reported that the Patrol Territorial de Mazarrón and Aguilas de la Guardia Civil and Public Safety Unit and Rural are working in support of emergency in Aguilas, tips and Ramonete Calnegre.

Finally, note that the State Agency of Meteorology has reported on the forecast for today where cloudy skies are expected.
