Red Cross sets up several checkpoints Eagles Volunteers to assist in relief efforts to the heavy rains in the city (17/08/2010)

Local Assembly Eagles Red Cross has launched a special operation from 07.30 hours in the morning before the heavy rains in the city that have caused extensive damage.

From early in the morning the Red Cross Local Coordinator, Miguel Angel Molina Gallego, activated several checkpoints of volunteers and Red Cross medical team assigned to the City Plan Copla Eagles, with the expectation that all necessary land use Salvage and Rescue as it finally happened.

The first intervention took place at 07.45 hours when the Rapid Intervention Vehicle moved at the request of the Emergency Coordination Centre in the Region of Murcia to transport the medical team of 061 Unit-based Eagles, and his ambulance was unable to attend a medical emergency at a residence in the town to be the water flooded streets.

From that time until the rain storm has subsided, the four all-terrain humanitarian organization intervened on several occasions to assess, stabilize and then transport patients to the Emergency Services.

In parallel, and from 10.00 am Eagles Red Cross has made available to the Regional Emergency Center (1 1 2) LS Salvage ship Titania and Underwater Rescue Team Eagles Red Cross, to the possibility that needed to be activated to be satisfied that several vehicles were swept away by the stream that crosses the Rambla Playa de Las Delicias.
