Alzheimer Patients participating in a dog-assisted therapy for Civil Protection (23/11/2011)

The mayor of Health, Ana Maria Miñarro, and the councilman of Public Safety, Francisco Clemente, today attended the first of these ecuentran which extend over the next three months.

The Department of Health and Social Services City of Eagles has today launched an activity assisted therapy with the Alzheimer's Association members, which will develop over the next three months at the Day of the Residence San Francisco.

During this period, the sick workers' mobility, the development of memory and behavior, using guide dogs and their belonging to the Rescue Canine Unit Civil Protection of Eagles (UCRAG).

The mayor of Health, Ana Maria Miñarro, accompanied by the Councillor for Public Safety, Francisco Clemente, today attended the first of these meetings, where he congratulated the Civil Defence volunteers for their generous collaboration, while he has indicated that "these contacts with animals in the patient causing a state of relaxation and promote the exchange of affection, also making it more active the patient is taking on new responsibilities, as this therapy includes times when patients are responsible for feeding the dogs ".

Note that these dogs were once abandoned animals that have been recovered by the Veterinary Service of the Consistory aquiline, well accustomed to being humane and being especially affectionate towards people.
