The mayor aquiline, Bartolome Hernandez, visited the Dutch company "Looije", implemented in the municipality since 1998.
The mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez Gimenez, visited this week the Dutch company "Looije", a leading national in implementing new technologies for the production of tomato "Cherri".
The company was set up in the town in 1998, developing all its production under high-end greenhouses, equipped with climate control, computer system and a technique of power plants through C02, with the aim of improving photosynthesis, among other advances which can obtain a high quality final product, sold under the trademark "Sarita".
During the tour of the farm, the manager of the company, Juan Jose Lopez, stated that "in 2010 was promoted the formation of an Organization of Fruit and Vegetables, which are composed of farmers across Murcia and Almeria, which has tripled production and generate more jobs, with an investment of one and half million euros in the last year. "
After visiting these facilities, Bartolome Hernandez stressed that "the entire staff, comprised of some 70 workers, consists of aquiline, with the peculiarity of using a novel culture system that allows to maintain production during the 12 months of the year ".
Finally, the mayor wanted to emphasize the importance of agriculture to the local economy, stressing that "the fact that companies continue to invest heavily columbine, is a proof of the strength of the sector, even at this very difficult. "
