The demand for information increased by 3'88% this summer at the Tourist Office of Eagles (19/09/2012)

The Department of Tourism and Celebrations of the City of Eagles has released today the statistics of the summer 2012, relating to the period from 1 July to 31 August.

The technical report by the Office of Tourism shows that only in these two months, the staff of these facilities served 9,457 tourists, representing an increase in demand for information 3'88% over the same period last year, in addition to those used portable tourist information points located on the beaches of Calabardina, The Colony and Las Delicias.

As for the origin of domestic tourists, as in 2011, highlights both locals and Catalans, followed by Granada, which was first placed in front of Alicante.

Internationally, the trend of other summers, outperforming the French, followed by English and German.

The data collected in that statistic show that the supply of sun and sand remains the most attractive for holidaymakers, with the information requested by the related these events, city map and cultural visits.

With regard to the trade, the mayor of Tourism and Celebrations, Clara Valverde, has indicated that this summer consumption has dropped by almost 20% compared to 2011, but slightly higher ranking to 2010.

According to Valverde, this decrease is mainly due to the current economic situation and the many Lorca which last year moved to Eagles, after the devastating earthquakes in the neighboring City of the Sun

Another aspect highlighted by the council has been the role that the beaches have recovered columbines in paragraph leisure, with the implementation of new bars and the return of free concerts, highlighting holding a massive event with groups "Nagha" and "Social Security", which was heavily promoted by the national broadcasting network "Channel 100".

Finally, Valverde has stressed that the extensive and varied summer program was made with a budget decrease of important celebrations, as many of the shows have been managed so that they come at no cost to the City of Eagle, with the only benefit to the organizers of the proceeds from ticket office, which although it has led to the suspension or adding some last minute action point, has been a huge savings for municipal coffers at a time when the difficult economic situation there to have it very much.
