Yesterday Sunday, October 27, The Arejos lived a significant festive day and the occasion is well deserved.
After decades without having a specific place where to put the image of the pattern and after several years in which residents are responsible for giving shelter in their homes, at last, San Isidro Labrador already has its own niche, located in the square aquiline center of this hamlet.
The day began with a busy food brotherhood, whose benefits have been allocated to the parties that each May in Los Arejos occur, followed by a Mass celebrated by the parish priest of San José, Manuel Amatriaín, which was blessed the new niche of San Isidro.
The ceremony was embraced by many citizens and various local authorities, among which were the councilors of Health, Agriculture and Education, along with other members of the municipal corporation and by the village headman and the president of the neighborhood association.
The emotional event included speeches from the mayor of Health, Ana Maria Miñarro, and Juanita Carrasco, widow of José Luis Muñoz, family closely linked to The Arejos and owner of the "El Garrobillico", in which more than mid-sixties was a small chapel that housed the image of San Isidro Labrador, as indicated by Luis Diaz, official historian of the town.
The day ended with a public thank Josefina Garcia and Felix Peñas, the first to be in charge of caring for the saint's image over the past twenty years and the second for leading the team that has been commissioned to build the new niche San Isidro Labrador.
