Castle Eagles last year reached a record figure of 15,421 visitors (10/01/2014)

The Councillor for Culture and Heritage aquiline Consistory, Francisco Miguel Martínez, made public this statistical data on the number of visits that have taken major cultural enclaves Eagles for 2013 tomorrow.

The mayor reported that the San Juan Castillo the Eagles and the Municipal Archaeological Museum reached a combined figure of 22,521 visitors, which highlights the importance of cultural, historical and scenic attractions in the city.

As for the origin of visitors, 3,141 were local, regional 3,804, 5,801 and 2,675 national worldwide.

By region, after Murcia, Madrid highlights (1670), Andalusia (1,425), Valencia (819) and Catalan (814), followed by the Castilian-La Mancha (298), Castilian-Leon (252) and Basque ( 148), among others.

Internationally, there is a clear predominance of the British (1,029), followed by French (587) and Germany (266), to which Americans and Africans are added, along with other non-EU European countries, mainly Russia.

The vast majority of tourists highlighted the attractions of the enclave and the Castle itself, a historical monument of the second half of the eighteenth century, perfectly adapted to its present use as Interpretation Center local history.

Another of the most visited cultural centers during 2013 and maintains a similar number to the previous year was the Municipal Archaeological Museum, with 7,100 regular visits.

Of these, 1,576 were local, regional 2,306, 2,820 domestic and 398 international.

The figure could exceed 8,000 people, if we consider that these data do not reflect the concerted temporary exhibitions and other specific acts, such as those organized by the newly formed Association of Friends of the Museum.

Unlike Castillo, Andalusians tourists (716) outnumber locals (612).

Other regions with some representation were: Catalonia (384), England (251), Castilla-Leon (163), Galicia (130), Basque Country (121) and the Canary Islands (105).

International visitors are led by the French, followed by British, Polish, German, Belgian and Dutch.

Finally, Francisco Miguel Martinez moved that, in the coming days, will be announced the statistics of the public who attended the various events that took place in the Auditorium and Congress Centre "Infanta Elena" another building emblematic of the town where many cultural events take place.
