The first mayor aquiline, Bartolomé Hernández Giménez, yesterday attended the General Assembly of the Community of Irrigators of Eagles, showing their unconditional support to requests from irrigators in the municipality, between points on its agenda included the measures to be taken to mitigate the shortage of this group within the Hydrological Plan of the Segura Basin,
This group tries to get the General Directorate of Water in Madrid, cover the deficit with envelopes to allow lower the water throughout the hydrological year, at prices that make farming town to be competitive with the rest of the Region of Murcia.
The Community Irrigation Eagles, presented to the mayor of a study of solutions for dam-reservoir location intended for irrigation in the town, for this to move it to the competent bodies and can become a reality.
Bartolomé Hernández for his part was sensitive to the prices farmers pay for water because they are far superior to any other municipality in the Segura Basin, and the products go to the same market.
It also pledged to continue supporting the implementation of these dams, they would get that in times of heavy rainfall the two watercourses reaching the city if the city did not lead with the intensity that they do, at peak times, as demonstrated above.
Irrigators Hernandez showed his gratitude and presiding Municipal Corporation, for the unconditional support they have always shown this community initiatives.
