The Civil Guard deploys a comprehensive verification device for Alcohol and Drug celebrating carnival (10/03/2014)

Eagles nearby 3,190 drivers have been controlled

This device is part of the Operating Plan of police response to drug trafficking and consumption in entertainment and fun

The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia, during the first two weekends of the month and on the occasion of the celebration of the carnival, has deployed a large device simultaneously to verify alcohol and drug driving on roads other than the Region Murcia, in order to raise awareness among drivers of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

The device, which is framed in the Operational Plan and Traffic Police Response to Drug Use in Areas of Leisure and Recreation, and the Road Safety Strategy 2010-2020 of the Directorate General of Traffic, 6,694 drivers were checked, of which 177 tested positive outcome in alcohol (2.64%), having been arrested 15 drivers for alcohol, which were brought to justice.

The remaining 162 people were reported to the Provincial Traffic Murcia for committing administrative violations.

Also were reported in five drivers for driving having taken drugs or narcotics prohibited.

In particular, it highlights the deployed in areas around the town of Eagle road, destination of many people who gathered there to celebrate their famous carnivals device, where they were made almost half of breath tests (3,190) , of which 101 tested positive outcome in alcohol (3.17%), having been arrested and brought to justice two conductors per breath.

Other 99 people were reported to the Provincial Traffic Murcia.

Similarly four of the five positive drug of this period, they were detected in it.

With these actions, to continue in the positive line of reducing accidents, the Meritorious persists in raising public awareness of the incompatibility of drinking and drugs with driving, and prevent traffic accidents occur, ensuring road safety and the normal development of these large events on our roads.

The Civil Guard reiterates its message to those drivers who, despite the warnings and campaigns of the DGT, drive after drinking or taking drugs, noting that it will continue to intensify the implementation of the controls at any time of day or night , especially during the weekends or during the celebration of leisure activities, to avoid personal losses trucking accidents.

Driving a motor vehicle or moped with a blood alcohol level greater than 0.60 mg / l breath, entails the arrest of the driver, on suspicion of alleged crime against road safety, punishable by imprisonment from 3 to 6 months or fine of 6 to 12 months to work on behalf of the community of 31 to 90 days, and in any case permit deprivation for a period of 1-4 years.

Moreover, driving motor vehicle or moped rates exceeding 0.25 mg alcohol / l (0.15 mg / l, novice and professional drivers) and to 0.60 mg / l, is a financial penalty 500 euro and up 6 points loss of driving license.

Driving having taken drugs or other prohibited substances can determine the commission of an alleged crime against road safety or, where appropriate, an administrative complaint, passed in the same terms.

In all cases, the affected vehicles are immobilized by the Civil Guard until their drivers are able to continue their journey, once they have lowered the BAC level within the permitted limits or missing the presence of drugs or , to take charge of vehicles other drivers that appropriate tests are enabled and pre.
