The Department of Environmental Cleaning and aquiline and Ecovidrio Consistory, a non profit organization responsible for managing the recycling of glass containers in Spain, presented the campaign "With yours in Águilas much glass is recycled."
This is an initiative focused on the summer, when the older generation of waste that is produced, and seeks to enhance the knowledge of the neighbors on the recycling of glass containers as a method of collaboration with the goals of sustainable development.
According to the latest available data, the population of the municipality recycled a total of 647,410 kg of glass during 2013, an average of 18'53 kilograms per person.
Regarding the rate of containerization, Eagles stood at an average of 178 inhabitants per container, thanks to a total of 196 igloos that are installed locally.
The new vessels 'customized' are standing in different parts of the city, mainly in the vicinity of where the boardwalks and hospitality venues are concentrated, trying to catch the attention of passersby, thereby increasing separate collection.
The mayor delegate this area in the Consistory aquiline, Isidro Carrasco, recalled that 100% of the deposited glass containers are recycled and used to make new containers, obtaining numerous environmental benefits.
