The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, through the Directorate General for Transport and Highways, has made several paving the road D-24, which connects San Felipe Pozo Higuera, whose budget amounts to 330,000 euros.
The works, which began last November and ended during the month of July, corresponding to the D-24, which is located almost entirely in the town of Aguilas, except for a small section located in the Higuera Pozo core belonging to the municipality of Lorca.
This pathway allows the connection of the MU-620 (from Lorca to Pulpí) with the C-3211 (Lorca-Eagles).
The stretch has been paved, which depended on the former Provincial Council, was a way that the Directorate General for Transport and Highways has been completely repaired, since it is an area that reconciles large farms with a protected area, which will provides an inclusive and structuring of the territory in which it is.
The realization of these improvements has helped to facilitate the movement of the inhabitants of the area for whom the performance will increase their quality of life and improving transport safety.
Background
Previously the road was unpaved, except for the first three hundred meters and the end as it passes through Pozo Higuera.
In addition, the maximum width of the road has been widened in the stretch for Los Arejos-Pozo Higuera.
On the other hand, has also made a performance improvement for an exit from the C-3211 (Lorca-Eagles), which shares the Cartagena-Vera motorway to the local D-24 in different directions, thus contributing to significantly improve road safety itself.
Finally, note that also there was a temporary improvement to facilitate connection of the C-3211 and the Cartagena-Vera motorway, to absorb the increased traffic generated by the opening of new highway access.
