Improved Lift rides and Las Delicias facilitate access to the beaches of Eagles (16/04/2010)

The director general of Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, accompanied by the mayor of Eagle, Juan Ramirez, today visited the construction that the Department of Public Works and Land Management conducted in the Levante promenade and Las Delicias, which will contribute to promote tourism in the municipality and improve access to beaches.

"This action, of the Ministry of Public Works, is part of the projects for the renovation of the image of the region's coastal areas, which also include improving access to beaches for all citizens, providing to walk better functionality and integrating it into the urban fabric, "said Sandoval.

In particular, it is undertaking a remodeling of space in an area of 12,670 meters square along the 1,600-meter-long walks, which will have green areas, paving, lighting, street furniture, signage and " all the elements necessary to provide not only a unified aesthetic and ensemble, but the comfort and safety to residents and thousands of visitors who come to enjoy the Murcia coast throughout the year, "said the director general.

The implementation of this project, with an investment of 2,201,467 euros, will also enable better management of traffic on the Paseo de Parra and Calle del Aire, and the reform of the channel at the mouth of the ravine of the Snakes at its confluence with the ride and the adequacy of the pedestrian area in front of the new auditorium.

Also, existing palm trees will recover and new trees planted.

Similarly, it is planned to install galvanized steel pergolas and wooden, new sources and washing devices, as well as shade structures and playground on the beach promenade of Las Delicias and the relocation of the source ornamental and existing kiosk on the stretch of the beach of Levante.

"With these works, the regional government wants to promote the functionality of the spaces that encourage public use and enjoyment of the coast of the Region, as part of the natural heritage of all Murcia", Sandoval concluded after the visit.
