The Mental Health Federation of the Region of Murcia has made, thanks to the ONCE's Inserta program and with the collaboration of Águilas City Council and the AFEMAC association, a motivational workshop for aquilines with mental health problems to be aware of their potential abilities with the aim of improving access to employment for this group.
The intention is that they identify their vocational interests, their capacities and their limitations, analyzing and evaluating, in turn, the labor market itself.
All this with a firm commitment to the action plan of the Labor Insertion Service of the Federation, which works daily to increase the number of jobs of people with mental health problems.
It must be borne in mind that mental health is, within the disability, the group with the worst figures for labor insertion, since 86% are unemployed.
Some data that will only be improved with the collaboration of public authorities with social entities and business involvement.
The presentation of the motivational workshop was attended by the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the president of Águilas Mental Health Association, AFEMAC, and also vice president of the Mental Health Federation Region of Murcia, Pilar Morales, the director of AFEMAC, Martín Jiménez and the labor preparers of the Federation Sonia Vidal, María Campillo and Laura Piqueras.
On behalf of the ONCE, fundamental actor in this motivational workshop, was Delia Torralba, territorial director of the Inserta program, Inma Fructuoso, POISES program technician and Ángeles López, POEJ program technician.
Currently, the Federation of Mental Health is composed of 12 federated associations and 1 collaborating partner that, in total, represent some 1,800 families.
Taking into account that each family is made up of 4 members - a person with mental illness, parents, siblings, couple and children - the Federation reaches 7,200 people throughout the Region of Murcia.
