The popular councilor, Francisco José Clemente, has presented a proposal to the ordinary Plenary of November to recognize the daily work carried out by the Red Cross requesting that the proceedings be initiated for the declaration of the entity as a social interest of the municipality, as well as the benefits that are foreseen in the law, since the cession of the premises for public use where it currently has its headquarters must be renewed as soon as possible.

The councilor calls for "maximum collaboration in the adaptation of this property as they perform an extraordinary job in all areas of the municipality and need this space to adapt."

Since its birth, the Local Assembly of the Red Cross, in 1980, the Red Cross "has turned to the people of Águilas, and we must from the City correspond to what they do every day their professionals, volunteers and collaborators."

Clemente continues commenting that "the Popular Group has always been sensitive to the needs of this institution, both from the government and the opposition and that does not believe that the current socialist government is doing it, but that they are underestimating the work they do in the socio-health, emergencies, beach rescue ... Without Red Cross events in which Águilas have national or international repercussion as our Carnival, the half marathon or the Triathlon tests of the Copa del Rey, recently celebrated for example, would be unviable and it is fair that the municipal corporation recognize this work, which is especially important with the services the institution carries out day by day. "

For this, the Popular Municipal Group that awaits the agreement of the entire Corporation has proposed:

1. That the procedures to carry out the declaration of social interest of the municipality of Águilas to the local Assembly of the Red Cross of Águilas be initiated.

2. That it be publicly recognized on the occasion of the celebration of its 120th anniversary of the entity, the role played by professionals, volunteers and collaborators in the social, health and emergency areas in the Local Red Cross Assembly for more than 35 years. in the town.

3. That the cession of use of the facilities currently managed by C / Iberia be renewed, making the appropriate adjustments for the proper use of the building.

4. That a cooperation framework be agreed with the entity so that it can continue to develop its work in the municipality.
