The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia, in the framework of the operation 'BICÉFALO', has dismantled in Águilas a criminal group dedicated to the commission of robberies and robberies, as well as to the traffic of narcotic substances.
The operation has resulted in four detainees and three investigated as alleged perpetrators of the crimes of drug trafficking, robbery with force, theft / robbery inside the vehicle, theft of vehicles and belonging to a criminal organization.
Effective prevention of citizen security of the Benemérita began the operation last April, when they detected an increase in robberies in homes and warehouses, vehicles and mopeds, events that generated some social alarm in the population.
The agents focused the investigation on a well-known local family clan, when one of them was arrested for the crime of theft with force in the things inside the vehicle, the minor being detained.
The family clan was specialized in the theft of mopeds, cutting them up and later selling the pieces, as well as the use of mopeds for the commission of new crimes, such as robberies with force in housing or warehouses.
The criminal group now dismantled had a very well organized structure when planning its illicit actions and the subsequent storage of the stolen effects until its sale, even going so far as to change its location to avoid raising suspicions
While the investigation was being carried out, a robbery took place in a warehouse, where four high-end bicycles, valued at around 20,000 euros, were stolen.
The first investigations of the agents led to focus again on one of the houses of the known family clan, being able to verify later that the stolen bicycles were in one of the houses of the criminal group that wanted to get rid of them as soon as possible, so as not to disturb their illicit activities related to drug trafficking.
The civil guards in charge of the investigation and agents of the Local Police of Eagles established a joint device with the purpose of recovering the stolen bicycles, as well as of other possible objects coming from robbery.
Once all the necessary evidence had been obtained and prior judicial authorization, the agents entered and searched the house in which seven laptops, four tablets, an electric compressor, four mountain bicycles and a bicycle frame were recovered. moped parts, housings, motors, wheels, etc., three tool boxes, video game consoles, mobile phones, a sound amplifier, various documentation and 200 grams of marijuana, as well as utensils used for its sale and distribution.
During the search one of the members of the criminal group was arrested and during the last days the remaining six have been located and arrested / investigated.
The investigation continues open in order to find out the origin of the recovered effects, for the clarification of subsequent crimes, not ruling out new arrests.
Some of the stolen effects have already been returned to their rightful owners, although efforts are still being made to locate the owners of the various objects that remain undelivered.
Spanish detainees / investigated, aged between 17 and 56 years old, residents of Águilas and with numerous records for similar crimes, the seized effects and the proceedings ordered have been made available to the Court of Instruction of Lorca and the Office of the Children's Office of Murcia
