Yesterday materialized the signing of the collaboration agreement signed between the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the CEO of Hidrogea, Javier Ybarra, endowed with an amount of 60,000 euros, so that no disadvantaged family in the municipality suffer cuts in the supply of drinking water.
The City Council and Hidrogea signed in 2017 the first agreement in the municipality, which aimed to coordinate efforts to optimize the application of the Social Water Fund.
This is an initiative that sought cooperation and coordination between both parties so that the residents of the municipality in a precarious situation could face the amounts corresponding to water and sewerage consumptions.
Thanks to this formula, the Social Fund of 2017 allowed the benefit of 204 families of Águilas who were able to meet the costs of 389 water and sewerage bills, for a total of € 24,286.15.
The social fund of Hidrogea for the financial year 2018 is also intended for clients in a situation of economic precariousness and aims to establish the granting of individual aid for the payment of water supply and sewerage in the municipality of Águilas.
Applications for Social Fund assistance will be made by request to the Municipal Social Services, which will study and analyze each request, approving according to the established criteria, the help for the payment of receipts.
Once the request for help is resolved, Hidrogea will proceed to execute the resolution.
The total amount available for the granting of the aid in 2018 is 60,000 euros, endowed by Hidrogea in a specific Social Fund for the water supply of the municipality of Águilas.
So far this year, this fund has forgiven the debt of 158 receipts amounting to € 16,627.35, helping 140 families with aquiline.
