The young Murcian painter Lucas Brox brought the Aquarium exhibition to guilas;
a sample organized jointly by the City Council of Aguilas, Cajamurcia Foundation and the Friends of Culture Association of Aguilas.
The work of this young promise of the world of arts in Murcia is a work "alive" and a bit revolted;
Lucas has managed to capture the essence of these fish that move through these waters of the Mediterranean and that have always been a breeding ground for myths and legends.
For the Phoenicians the fish were a symbol of fertility and procreation, for the Christians they were a symbol to leave the catacombs and announce a new era.
In short, water and fish as a sign of depth, of the dark and primal, and of their regeneration in life through light.
The mayor Mari Carmen Moreno, in charge of opening the exhibition, thanked the painter "having chosen Aguilas to exhibit in summer, offering a complement to the cultural and leisure offer that our town offers":
The spectator can immerse himself in this room, which, like an aquarium, contains 40 fish works, allowing him to pass through bursts of color, emotions, and feelings that perhaps resemble his own.
Even more so when they do it in a city whose ancestors exploited the art of fishing since time immemorial and that nowadays, thanks to the quality of its fish and seafood, are a first class reference in regional gastronomy.
