The Councils of Commerce, Consumption, Education, Environment and Equality, in collaboration with ACIA, Hoste Águilas, Mercado de Abastos, Águilas Plaza Shopping Center, Club Náutico de Águilas and Ambiente Ambiente, have presented this morning the Escalpito project.
Fishermen of plastics;
an initiative that seeks to reduce the consumption of plastic single-use involving all sectors of the municipality.
To achieve this, different actions will be developed, all around Escalpito, the mascot that gives its name to the project and which will help citizens, especially children, to identify with this initiative.
The Stop the plastic at sea conference, which will be developed by Sebastián Ramírez at the Yacht Club, will be the first of the actions of the Program to be followed, during the Águilas Shopping & Leisure Fair, organized by ACIA, the paper Sea Garbage: A global tide outside of control, as well as the delivery of reusable bags made with biodegradable material.
As of October, a good part of these actions will be transferred to educational centers.
All the schools and institutes of the locality will receive the visit of Escalpito, the mascot to which Juan María Soler gives life, in charge of explaining the problematic of the plastics with data as alarming as the one published recently in which it is warned that in 2050 in the oceans the number of plastics will exceed that of fish.
Visits that will be completed with micro-shorts contests, writing, photography and drawing.
