The mayor of Culture, Lucia Hernandez, has announced the planned events for the celebration of the Esparto Day that will take place on August 5 in the Plaza de España.

The inauguration, scheduled for 7:00 pm, will begin with an exhibition of artisan works of pleitas and enclosure, as well as spinning and crushing works by Bernardo and Los Moris, professional spinners who are already retired.

The acts will be completed with a photographic exhibition by Juan Hernández on esparto and his influence on Águilas that will remain in the Plaza de España until August 12.
