Getting strong, healthy and pest free trees is getting closer every day thanks to the endotherapy treatments that are being worked on right now.
To continue delving into how to act and carry them out have organized a conference on endotherapy which has been attended, among others, two technicians from the concessionaire STV Gestión en Águilas.
"It's about getting the people in charge of the different green areas of the Region to know how to detect and apply innovative techniques such as endotherapy, for example, in pines, eucalyptus or palm trees, among others," explains José Luis Celdrán, responsible for STV Management in Águilas.
In the days there has also been room to learn, in a practical way, how to carry out these techniques effectively, in this case by injecting active materials to different specimens of palm.
This technique is complementary to the traditional fumigations that are carried out periodically in different specimens.
The endotherapy injects a substance, through a small hole in the base or trunk of the tree or palm tree, which is not toxic to the specimen, but ends up with harmful insects, such as the known processionary.
Actions that always seek the correct conditioning of the different green areas ensuring the safety of citizens and animals that can travel these spaces.
