The mayor of Local Development, Gins Desiderio Navarro, has reported that the strike in the town has recorded an annual decrease of 40 people from 2,154 unemployed in July 2017 to 2,114 of the same month this year, as reflected by the latest published data by the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia SEF.
The mayor stressed that the data are clear and reflect a downward trend.
In relation to the previous month, Navarro has highlighted that "there has been a decrease of 137 people, which is the biggest monthly decrease of the current term."
Regarding the number of contracts, the councilor explained that while in July 2018 there were 270 more than in July of last year.
Navarro recalled that, although it is true that the municipalities do not have skills in terms of job creation, what they can do is work to encourage it and "it is in this line that we are working from this Government Team".
To conclude the council, as he has said on previous occasions, said that "although these data reflect a significant improvement, from the City will continue to work on policies that result in improvements for citizens as this is the purpose of this term of people".
