Cristina Moreno, from the World Fantasy club;
Angel Juárez, of Azabache;
Mariola López, from Nuevo Ritmo;
and Cristina Román, from Terpsícore, became the characters of Carnival 2019 last night during the Gala of election held in the Plaza de Antonio Cortijos.
The event brought together more than 1,500 attendees who witnessed a show that marks the beginning of Carnival 2019 in Águilas.
One of the highlights of the night came with the presentation of the children's characters.
Javier Parra, from the El Tangay club and the Las Lomas school, will be in charge of giving life to the Mussona;
the battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma this year will be deputed by Paula Carracedo, from the Sinergia peña and the Joaquín Tendero school, and Juan Miguel Silvente, from Diversity Dance and student at our school, Señora de los Dolores.
Finally, the role of Musa, the inspiration of all the carnivals, will be represented by Mia Julieta Colque of the Peña Diversity Dance and the El Rubial school.
After the presentation of the children's characters, it was time to unveil another of the great mysteries of Carnival 2019. Specifically, the official presentation of the poster announcing the most important festivities of the aquiline municipality.
The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, the president of the Federation of Peñas, José Alonso, and the mayor of Carnival, Cristóbal Casado, were in charge of discovering the great secret.
A colorful poster that this year has been created by the prestigious art and architecture studio Muher.
Already, with emotion to the surface, the candidates appeared on stage to give life to the adult characters of the Carnival that after their performances gave way to voting.
Cristina Moreno, from the Peña World Fantasy, became Mussona;
Angel Juárez, of Azabache, in Don Carnal;
Mariola López, from Nuevo Ritmo, in Doña Cuaresma;
and Cristina Román, from Terpsícore, in the Musa of all the carnivals.
The Gala of Character Choices also served to dismiss the Official Ballet of the Peñas de Carnaval Federation, whose management abandoned, among countless applauses, the dancer and choreographer Antonio Molina "Toni" after four years at the helm.
