Last Tuesday August 21 took place at the Casa de la Cultura, an act of solidarity with Nicaragua and its government convened by the local organizations of Podemos, Izquierda Unida, Communist Party of Spain, Union of Communist Youth of Spain and Republic in March .
Before a large group of attendees, the speakers Antonio Alcolea, aquiline specialist in studies on the Middle East and North Africa, and Manolo Garcia, member of the International Commission of the PCE, made a detailed tour of the history of Nicaragua to the present.
When the event ended, some of the attendees gathered at the door of the Casa de la Cultura to express their solidarity with the government of Nicaragua, led by Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
According to the organizers, "the country is suffering an attempt at destabilization financed by the opposition and the US with the aim of overthrowing the government, because its policies of redistribution of wealth clash with the interests of the wealthiest classes and international capital "
The convening organizations united to "show their condemnation for the violent campaign promoted by the most reactionary opposition, support the call for national dialogue promoted by the government and demand respect for the sovereignty of Nicaragua."
