Unemployment in the town has registered an annual decline of 72 people from 2,223 unemployed in August 2017 to 2,151 the same month of this year, as reflected by the latest data published by the Employment and Training Service of the Region of Murcia SEF .
On this matter, the mayor of Local Development, Ginés Desiderio Navarro recalled that, although it is true that the municipalities do not have skills in matters of job creation, what they can is to work to encourage it by offering entrepreneurs who want to settle in the locality all the necessary facilities on the part of the local administration, developing activities of promotion of the effective municipality and betting by the programs of employment and formation for the locality.
To conclude the council, as he has said on previous occasions, said that "although these data reflect an improvement, talk of unemployment can never be assessed as something positive so we must continue working on policies that result in improvements for all neighbors of Águilas ".
