The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed a maritime action that has culminated with the extraction of a professional fishing net from the seabed, in the maritime area near Isla del Fraile.
The action began after the Civil Guard was alerted to the presence of a professional fishing net that was submerged and trapped in the vicinity of Isla del Fraile de Águilas.
Civil guards of the Underwater Activities Specialist Group (GEAS) began the work directed to know the situation and location of the fishing gear, with the purpose of proceeding, safely, to its extraction, after the municipality of the aquiline municipality considered certain risks for navigation, the practice of water sports such as diving, as well as possible damage to the native marine fauna.
The Civil Guard, in collaboration with the Fishermen's Association of Águilas, who chartered a vessel, established a device that has allowed the maneuver to extract the aforementioned seabed network, which, a posteriori, has been transferred to land.
