The Popular Party presents to the Plenary a motion for the City Council of Águilas to speak out against the rise of gas oil
The councilman of the Popular Municipal Group, Francisco Navarro, presents to the ordinary plenary of September a proposal of rejection to the tax increase of the socialist government relative to the diesel scheduled for 2019.
According to the popular council, in the first three months of the year, car deliveries in the Spanish market reached a volume of 340,311 units, which translates into an increase of 10.5% compared to those months of 2017.
In particular, sales of diesel cars accounted for 38.4% of total deliveries in the Spanish market, while gasoline cars accounted for 56.1% and hybrids and electric cars for 5.5%.
The Minister of Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, has stated in Congress that "eldiéseltiene days numbered", which has surprised and alarmed the automotive sector, as in recent times has made an effort to get diesel engines, leaders in efficiency compared to the rest of the internal combustion, are also clean as gasoline.
The mayor, echoes the concern of the owners of diesel vehicles, following the statements of the Government of Pedro Sanchez announced to carry out the comparison of the taxation of gas oil with the gasoline, from the month of January, what would suppose an increase of the price of the diesel with the negative effects that it will have for the economy and for thousands of carriers, small self-employed workers and SMEs.
Therefore, concludes Navarro, it is proposed to the Plenary that the City of Águilas show its maximum rejection to the rise of diesel planned for January 2019 and be transferred to the Government of Spain.
