The mayor and the mayor of Culture supervise the works of the Carnival Museum (24/09/2018)

The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Culture, Lucía Hernández, recently visited the refurbishment works of the Carnival Museum that will be located on the first floor of the Francisco Rabal House of Culture.

During the visit, the chief executive said that "it has opted for the House of Culture for two reasons: its excellent location, central and accessible, as well as the fact that the opening thereof will not involve an extra expense in personnel , since the House of Culture has controllers in charge of its daily opening and closing ".

Regarding the content that will be offered, the mayor said that "it will try to be present all the elements that make our party of International Tourist Interest unique, so there will be a part dedicated to the rocks, the paper costumes, the characters of the Carnival, the cuerva and, as it could not be otherwise, the corner of the bullfight, so linked to the origin of our Carnival ".

It should also be noted that the idea is that "the Carnival Museum is a living and changing space, as is our Big Party".

The adaptation of the first floor of the House of Culture to host this museum space is being carried out by the members of the Local Public Employment Program aimed at long-term unemployed.

These programs are subsidized by the Regional Employment and Training Service and co-financed by the Ministry of Employment, Migration and Social Security, while the City of Águilas, in this case, has contributed 42,300 euros to finance the construction materials of all the actions that will be developed through the program.

On this matter, the first mayor pointed out that "with the actions that will be developed through the Local Public Employment Program is to improve and strengthen the maintenance of municipal buildings and the appearance of some urban equipment, for this they have hired a total of nine long-term unemployed, with a certain level of specialization, so that their work is visualized and valued positively by the aquiline society and by the business fabric, favoring their insertion in the labor market ".
