In just two weeks work will begin on a new section of the bike path between Aguilas and Calabardina.
This has been the announcement made by the mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, who has announced that the work has already been awarded, with a budget of 159,873 euros and a deadline of four months.
Moreno recalled that "one of the commitments of this Government Team was the construction of a bike lane that linked Águilas with the district of Calabardina and we are working on that".
Thus, the first mayor recalled that so far "we proceeded to the restoration of a section of this lane, which was very deteriorated, and the creation of another stretch that ends at the height of Hornillo, point from which we are now going to continue until we reach the intersection with Marina de Cope, our goal is to be able to complete the entire route until Calabardina before next summer. "
The projected section, whose work will begin this month, consists of the execution of a bike-pedestrian lane, with a paved width of 3.50 meters, of which 2.30 will be destined to the use of bicycles and the remaining 1.20 pedestrian traffic.
